Les oreilles de Mickey – Tignes off-piste itinerary
MICKEY’S EARS CHUTE
The name of these couloirs comes from the former telecom antenna which, with its two satellite dishes, was reminiscent of the famous cartoon character. From the summit of the ski lift Combe Folle you have to take off the skis and tie them on your rucksack for a short walk of 15 to 40 minutes on ridge between the ski area of Tignes and Val d’Isère. Follow the ridge that heads first east before turning north and come up against a small rocky ledge. Bend as far as possible the rocky ledge by the left and reach again the ridge. This walk gives access to a multitude of couloirs more or less narrow and steep. Beware of vertigo … overhanging cornices formed by the wind, couloirs without exits and avalanches! You have understood well; This sector is for skiers and snowboarders who already have a good experience in off-piste and freeride …
Departure from the top of the Combe Folle ski lift:
2600 above sea level.
Arrival at La Daille : 1800m above sea level.
